The Art of Kintsukuroi

Kintsukuroi (n.) (v. phr.) – “to repair with gold”; the art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer and understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken.

I love the symbolism in this form of art! It’s a great visual reminder that none of us have everything it takes to be our best selves. We are simply more interesting, more beautiful, when we recognize our weaknesses and allow them to be filled. Who makes you a more complete you?
